The YELLOW route marker indicated a possible detour. For those who wish to spend more time in the Kootenays and avoid the busier towns of Lake Louise and Banff, follow Highway #23 north from Nelson, passing through the beautiful town of Nakusp, well-known for it's hotsprings.
