Bowron Lake Provincial Park, a world- renowned wildlife sanctuary, is a rectangular chain of lakes and interconnecting rivers - which forms this planet's most spectacular canoe circuit. Abundant wildlife and a rich flora, set amidst a backdrop of azure lakes and huge glaciated mountain peaks, provide a truly inspirational setting for the canoeist, photographer, bird watcher and nature lover. The 116 km route through the scenic Cariboo Mountains is comprised of 6 major lakes and a series of connecting streams, rivers and portages.

The Park is located in the Cariboo Mountains, and Wells on Hwy 26 is the nearest community. While visiting Bowron Lakes Provincial Park, be sure to stop at one of British Columbia's most famous (and earliest) settlement -- Barkerville.  Barkerville became the location of British Columbia's Gold Rush in the 1800's.  It is now a heritage site and invites visitors from around the world to step back in time to relive the time of the gold rush.

Inside the park and located at the head of Bowron Lake you will find Becker's Lodge.  The lodge offers and assortment of canoe & kayak rentals for anyone wishing to do the Bowron Lakes Canoe Circuit.  The Lodge also offers cabin rentals and camping facilities, a great home-cooked meal at their restaurant, a general store and guided adventure tours -- and all from a great view overlooking the lake!
